Tony Giordano
A great Jersey surfer and member of the New Jersey Surfing Hall of Fame, “Tony Giordano is the longtime owner of Ocean Hut Surf Shop in Monterey Beach (Lavallette), New Jersey. Giordano is also a respected competitor in the Eastern Surfing Association representing NJ in the Eastern Surfing Championship many times.
Giordano started surfing at the age of 13 in Monterey Beach and soon would be a fixture at Manasquan Inlet garnering multiple photos in the surf magazines especially during big hurricane swells. He has long involved himself with young up and coming local surfers through his surf team and involvement in youth surfing. An ongoing champion of New Jersey surfing, Giordano was the first person from New Jersey to be on the IPS World Pro Tour and have a world ranking in 1976 and 1977. Through his relationship with Australian surfer/shaper Terry Fitzgerald, Giordano was responsible for bringing Hot Buttered Surfboards to the U.S. and getting Wind n Sea legend Hank Warner to shape Fitzgerald’s designs. It was through this relationship that East Coast Surfing Hall of Famer Linda Davoli would become sponsored by Hot Buttered Surfboards during her professional career.
